20 06 06 14:34 - Fifth competition in Slovenian Cup

This past Sunday we gathered at the sport airfield near Slovenske Konjice. There were less pilots than usual and we were joking we'd want to fly 10 rounds, but since it was very hot and humid day, we barely managed usual four + two flyoffs. Conditions were very challenging, with strong and short lived thermals, so quite a lot of work was needed to get the maximum time.
After the race most of us went to the pub in the nearby village, where we cooled down and discussed some ideas about making the F5J more competitive and more popular.

This time just a few pictures and results here.

06 06 06 22:26 - 1st Eurocup race, Kamnik

First Eurocup race was held on 27th May near Kamnik, Slovenia. Weather was very challenging, 8/8 Altostratus clouds, so the thermals were very weak. There were more pilots from Slovakia and Hungary in F5J than in F5J-400. Competition was very hot, as 96.5% of max possible score was needed for flyoffs in F5J and 93.75% for F5J-400. That means one bad landing and you were out.

That also means that judges must be very precise from now on on. Because frankly, there were some justified comments about that. The problem was the safety zone and the height of flight above it. It's true that it is written in the rules as required, it is true that it was about the only thing well marked on the flying field, but it is also true that it was not mentioned at the morning breefing. Also, which plane is 3m above it and which is not is left to the judge. I think there needs to be some more attention directed in this way on the next two Eurocup races.

As always ... pictures and pictures, F5J results and F5J-400 results.
